Real Estate 101: By the agent who lives here, plays here, owns here!
As spring approaches, warmer weather will allow for more outside projects around your home. Why not ensure your “honey-do” projects are adding curb appeal (and value)? Take a look at your property as if you’ve never seen it before – what are the best features? Can you enhance or highlight them? What are your home’s worst features – can they be improved or minimized? Most properties would benefit from an outside spring cleaning – consider power washing the exterior of your home, clean out gutters and be sure they are in good repair, trim back trees or shrubbery as needed, clear out flower beds and add mulch if needed. If you’re looking for a larger impact, repainting or replacing the front door can change the look of your home’s entry, and updating hardware (house number, lockset, light fixture, etc) can add oomph. You might consider adding outdoor lighting, or plants in containers along the entryway. Consider the impact of symmetry as you are making your improvements.
